Album 8: Vietnam War Memorial Sculpture (Part I)

The 11-foot high bronze monument portrays a soldier from the former Republic of South Vietnam and an American solder standing side by side on a 5-foot tall marble base with the flags of their country behind them. The statue symbolizes the unity, cooperation and friendship of brothers-in-arms fighting for the cause of freedom. The renowned Vietnamese-American sculptor, Tuan Nguyen designed the memorial and constructed two bronze figures. The memorial flags will be flown at all times and will be illuminated at night. The memorial has a waterfall element, circular concrete granite plaza, plus an eternal flame. The park displays a 50-foot flagpole flying the American flag. The memorial has a concrete/granite circular area and walkways entering on three sides.
